Snow Days

Nothing is better during the school year then waking up to a fresh coat of snow and the news that you have the whole day to lounge around your house in your pajamas. From listening to music, watching Netflix, going sledding, reading (ok probably not reading, lets be real here), and eating everything in your fridge; I think we all can agree that snow days are the best days.

Here are some highlights from my snow day:

My morning consisted of hot chocolate and listening to the "Hanging out Relaxing" playlist on Spotify
The book I so ambitiously thought I would read today
My top 4 go to drinks during the winter time

Color and Texture: The United States Botanical Garden

Every time I go into D.C. I am reminded of how wonderful and beautiful the city is. After visiting the city for either a hockey game or a quick visit to a museum, I always end up asking myself why I don't go into the city more often. Last night I found myself lost on my way back home to the dreadful suburbs from Ebenezer's, a coffee place in North East end of D.C. Usually I would be annoyed by my lack of direction and irritated when Kendra's directions lead me down a one way road, but this time it was hard to be angry when the faulty directions led me to the grand and beautiful Union Station lit up lavishly at midnight. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that it seems no matter where I turn, there are so many beautiful, special places in D.C. and the United States Botanical Garden is no exception. Each plant is so unique, quirky and captivating. Although the building is mostly a vision of green, there are a couple plants that I found that were magnificent, unlike anything I have ever seen.
